Solvent Compatibility
The organic solvent compatibility of these cellulosics are considered limited as they are not directly soluble in organic solvent alone. Many of these cellulosics will work to thicken blends of water and solvent and have good tolerance for even moderate levels of organic solvents in the mixture. These polymers are commonly dispersed in the solvent first and allowed to completely dispersed prior to being hydrated by water.
