Product Overview

Lattice® NT-50, is a binder-grade microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) powder produced by the acid hydrolysis of wood pulp. It is valued as a dry binder for industrial tablet formulations made by dry granulation or direct compression. In wet granulation processes, Lattice® NT-50 behaves as a process aid to control granule particle size. The recommended use level of Lattice® NT-50 in these applications is within a range of 20%–50% by weight of the final product. With an average particle size of 50 µm, Lattice® NT-50 is recommended to add along with components of similar particle size to limit or avoid segregation.

Lattice® NT-50 is also EPA exempt and has disintegrating properties, making it useful in agrochemical applications. When used in a range of 5–20 wt%, Lattice® NT-50 is useful as an adjuvant in agricultural chemical tablets, extrudates, and water-dispersible granules. In ceramic applications, Lattice® NT-50 is used as a temporary binder that burns out with minimal ash residue. Typical use levels are 5%–20% for ceramic applications. Lattice® NT-50 microcrystalline cellulose is only approved for industrial, non-food, and non-pharmaceutical use.
