ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 Industrial

ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 Industrial is an organosoluble, water-insoluble cellulose ether polymer. It is based on premium quality ethylcellulose resin providing a viscosity of 90 - 110 mPa.s. ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 is most commonly used in ceramics, conductive pastes, low solid coatings and specialty coatings.

ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 Industrial can be used to provide a variety of functions and benefits mostly in solvent-based formulations. It can be utilized a binder, thickener, rheology modifier, film former, and water barrier in many applications as detailed below:

  • Adhesives: ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 can be dissolved in hot polymers, plasticizers, and oil. It provides thermoplasticity that makes it suitable for hot melts and solvent based adhesives. It also adds strength to freshly sealed joints for improved application properties.

  • Ceramics: ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 is the highest quality binder used in ceramics especially multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) and other high-end electronic ceramic applications. It works as a binder and rheology modifier to provides green strength. It also burns out without residue.

  • Conductive Pastes: ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 acts as a binder and rheology modifier in conductive pastes and inks. It stabilizes metal pigments and burns out cleanly without residues.

  • Electronics: ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 is a perfect binder for electronics. It provides ultra-purity, clean burn-out, and high solubility. It is also pseudoplastic or provides thixotropy property for improved print and adhesion in lamination processes.

  • Printing Inks: ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 is can be used in solvent-based ink systems as a rheology modifier, dispersant, and a binder. Its organosolubility, high compatibility with plasticizers and polymers make it best fit for gravure, flexographic and screen printing inks. It also helps with the formation of tough and high resistance films.

  • Specialty Coatings: ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 provides waterproofing, toughness, flexibility and high gloss to paints and coatings. It can also be used in paper, fluorescent lighting, roofing, enameling, lacquers, varnishes, and marine coatings. It is compatible with a wide range of application temperatures.

  • Other Applications: ETHOCEL™ Standard 100 is also utilized in cleaning solutions, filtration, plasma display panels, photovoltaics, flexible packaging, lubricants, and any other solvent-based systems.
