Product Overview

METHOCEL™ K4M Premium is a refined, water-soluble cellulose ether designed for use in water-based systems requiring robust thickening and binding performance. This grade of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) delivers a viscosity of approximately 4,000 cPs at 2% concentration in water, making it ideal for applications where high viscosity and formulation stability are critical. 

Produced with reduced impurity levels compared to standard grades, METHOCEL™ K4M Premium is well suited for regulated applications. It exhibits thixotropic behavior, excellent film-forming properties, and thermal gelation, making it a versatile choice for coatings, ceramics, and cleaning formulations.

Ceramics: Enhances green strength and reduces cracking in extruded or molded parts 
Coatings & Inks: Provides sag resistance and viscosity control for vertical and overhead applications 
Cleaners & Detergents: Stabilizes formulations across a wide pH range and improves shelf life
