Product Overview

METHOCEL™ F4M Premium is a water-soluble cellulose ether polymer with similar properties as METHOCEL™ F4M, except this is a higher purity grade. The product provides a viscosity of 4,000 cP at low addition levels.


METHOCEL™ F4M Premium is widely used in ceramics, extrusion, coatings, adhesives, paint strippers, inks, and chemical processing. The product can be utilized as a binder, thickener, and rheology modifier in a variety of industrial applications.

  • Agriculture: METHOCEL™ F4M Premium is widely used in crop protection for drift control, stabilization, rheology modification. It works as a dispersing aid in wettable pesticides and powder fertilizers. It improves adhesion to waxy plant surfaces. It is also used in seed coatings and spray adherents for better binding to seeds.

  • Ceramics: METHOCEL™ F4M Premium is used as a binder and rheology modifier in ceramics extrusion and casting applications. It also improves workability and finishes quality by providing improved lubricity and smoother surface finishes.

  • Coatings and Inks: METHOCEL™ F4M Premium is commonly used as a thickener in coatings and inks. It provides exceptional film and protective colloid properties. The product also improves workability and water retention in water-based inks and coatings.
