Product Overview

METHOCEL™ F4M is a water-soluble cellulose ether polymer. It is based on high purity, and non-ionic Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC). At addition levels of 2 to 3% it yields a viscosity of 4,000 cP.

Applications

METHOCEL™ F4M is widely used in ceramics, extrusion, coatings, adhesives, paint strippers, inks, and chemical processing. The product can be utilized as a binder, thickener and rheology modifier in a variety of industrial applications.

  • Ceramics: METHOCEL™ F4M is used as a binder and rheology modifier in ceramics extrusion and casting applications. It also improves workability and finishes quality by providing improved lubricity and smoother surface finishes.

  • Coatings and Inks: METHOCEL™ F4M is commonly used as thickener in coatings and inks. It provides exceptional film and protective colloid properties. The product also improves workability and water retention in water based inks and coatings.
