METHOCEL™ F50 Food Grade is a water-soluble cellulose ether polymer with similar properties as METHOCEL™ F50, except  this is a food compliant grade. It provides a viscosity of 50 cP for potential food contact applications.

METHOCEL™ F50 Food Grade is commonly used in industrial applications when food grade approval is required. The product can be used coatings, inks, adhesives, agriculture, gel packs, and cleaning solutions. It can be utilized to function as a thickener, rheology modifier, binder, and suspension aid.

  • Adhesives: METHOCEL™ F50 Food Grade can be used as film former, thickener and binder in adhesives. It provides wet-tack, quick set, fast dry, and oil resistance to various types of adhesives.

  • Coatings and Inks: METHOCEL™ F50 Food Grade in food coatings, packaging, and inks functions as a surface modifier, protective colloid, and pigment suspension aid. It also improves binding, workability and water retention for paper and general coatings.

METHOCEL™ cellulose ethers include methylcellulose (MC) or hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) polymers with solubilities ranging from water-soluble to organosoluble.
